31 Days of Dresses ~ Dressember 2020

As I mentioned in my first post from December, I decided to participate in the Dressember Challenge this year and donate enough for a sex trafficking victim to receive an hour of trauma therapy. And at first it was kind of fun. I was putting together outfits, wearing dresses I hadn\’t worn in awhile, recording the short videos for the Instagram Reels that I made.

But then I just really wanted to wear sweatpants, to throw on leggings to go to the store, and to sleep in pajama shorts. But that was kind of the whole purpose of the challenge and similar challenges. You\’re giving up something for people who don\’t necessarily have the freedoms that you do.

Another minor problem I ran into was that most of my dresses were very summery. Given that I live in Southern Louisiana and the climate it pretty mild, I was able to easily layer a few of my summer dresses. That being said, this would have been substantially harder if I was in Ohio, or another state with much colder weather. My black turtleneck bodysuit was potentially the most worn item this month simply because I layered it under multiple dresses, as pictured in this post.
I think the final question is whether or not I would do this again. And the answer to that is maybe. I would to continue to support Dressember financially, but I ultimately don\’t know what I\’ll be doing in the future or where I\’ll even be a year from now.
Live your Dreams,
Jacquelyn
