A Little Bit About Me… a 2019 update

Hello lovelies! No goals this week because I\’m in a bit of a funk, and I\’m expecting this week to be a little rough! The past few days, my follower count has really been growing, and I\’ve been due to update my \”about me\” page! If you\’re new here, welcome! I hope I can inspire or entertain you in some way!
I started this blog June 25, 2015 because I was inspired by so many bloggers and Youtubers who decided to follow their passions, particularly Lauren Pfieffer of Passing Whimsies, who\’s style and words have always been an inspiration for me. Of course I didn\’t really know what I was doing at the time, but I knew I wanted this to be a place where I can express myself and my personal style. Unfortunately, throughout high school, I spent so much time working and wearing the uniforms that I was always lacking content. It wasn\’t until later in 2018, when I started college, that I really started to blog and be consistent with my work.
While my primary focus of this blog is to share my style through photographs, I like to also share my other hobbies through my words (and some times images, too). These hobbies include reading, baking and cooking (and eating), watching movies and tv, listening to music, crafting, and traveling. Through this I have created this space for myself and for those who also share these passions! For the most part though, I really try to keep the main focus on fashion.
Currently, I am a fashion merchandising major at Kent State University in Ohio. For a long time I considered being an education major, but decided to take a chance and do something different. Prior to living in Ohio for school, I lived in southern Louisiana (the past 7 years) and Colorado (the first 11 years of my life). My family is scattered across America and I love traveling to see them and just to discover something new. I\’ve been 28 of the 50 states, but traveling to Puerto Rico was the only time I\’ve ever been out of the contiguous United States. My dream travel destination has always been Paris, but lately I\’ve also been wanting to go to Australia.
As far as my style is concerned, I\’ve always been very feminine (aside for the couple of years in elementary school that I decided I was a total tom-boy – that didn\’t last too long lol), eclectic, vintage, and preppy. I love dresses and colors so much that I refused to voluntarily wear pants until I was in the 3rd grade. My friends often joke about how I dress like another decade, which is mostly true, and that I always over dress, which is also mostly true. These are both only mostly true because I am currently wearing leggings and a t-shirt – this is hardly inspired by past decades or me being fancy. And while I do enjoy playing with color, I also appreciate the neutrals, especially black and pink.
At this point in my life, my closet is about half thrifted items and half bought-new items. I have of recent gone on a no-new items ban, and it has been good for me! This is a result of me trying to reduce my footprint, in addition I stopped using single use straws. I like to refer to myself as a low-key tree-hugger. I appreciate the outdoors, but I\’ve also fallen in love with so many cities! Lately, I\’ve been itching a bit to minimize my closet a bit: it\’s already kind of started, so be sure to shop my closet! I have a button above!
I\’d love to know more about you, too, so feel free to introduce yourself!
