A Summer Farewell

Well, it\’s official! School is back in session and summer, or at least my summer, is officially over. And while I\’m sure I\’ll miss the freedom that comes along with the lack of classes, I know I won\’t miss the brutal summers that exist in Louisiana. With all that being said, I thought I\’d share the highlights from my summer. As I mentioned in my last post, I did spend a good bit of the summer working at the childcare center and babysitting, but I did have some adventures.

First Stop Highlights: San Francisco *:・゚✧*:・゚

✧ Alcatraz ✧

Fun fact: I\’m kind of a major history nerd. I love the stories behind it and the \”simpler times\” that existed prior to these moments that we incur daily. So Alcatraz was the perfect spot for me. I also learned a lot while I was there, such as the fact that families lived on the island and for a short time the island was inhabited by local Native Americans in an attempt to take back their land.

✧ Pier 39 ✧

Ok, so in all honesty here, Pier 39 is super touristy and very crowded, which isn\’t for everyone, so we didn\’t want to spend too much time there. But we ended up going into a mirror maze, which was so much fun. Seriously. I don\’t think we had laughed that much in a long time. After that we went to Doughp. Just a short walk down from Pier 39 is Fisherman\’s Wharf, where Musee Mechanique sits. This was also a good deal of fun!

✧ The Golden Gate Bridge ✧

Y\’all, I was so excited we got to go see it. The morning of the day we were going see it, it was super foggy, which isn\’t uncommon. But luckily, it cleared up by the afternoon!

Second Stop Highlights: New Orleans *:・゚✧*:・゚

✧ The Pontchartrain Hotel ✧

Y\’all, this hotel is honestly one of the most gorgeous hotels I\’ve ever stayed at. It has a sleek vintage style and has given me some major inspo for my future home. On top of the hotel is the Hot Tin Bar (a roof top bar) that has vintage style as well. Such a cool place to stay.

✧ The Coven House ✧

After watching American Horror Story last year, visiting the house in New Orleans has been high on my bucket list. It was such a cool thing to see.

Third Stop Highlights: The Beach *:・゚✧*:・゚

We went to the beach for a family reunion and it was a lot of fun. I loved being able to go to my cousin\’s new restaurant and then flaunt my new swim suit. There\’s really not too much to say here since I\’m not really a beach person lol.

I hope you all had a wonderful summer with lots of fun memories!

Much Love,

Jac
