A Weekend in Jamestown, NY

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to travel home with my roommate and discover her hometown as well as the area around it, and we had so much fun! I thought I\’d pop on and share some of the highlights from our little weekend in case maybe you want to head to Jamestown one day also!

The Lucy Desi Museum Jamestown is home to American icon Lucille Ball and they have a museum dedicated to her and Desi Arnaz. It was such a cool museum with props from the show, memorable outfits she\’s worn, and highlights of their lives. They also have an interactive area where you can create your own Vitameatavegamin commercial.

The Lucy Statues In Celoron Park there are two statues dedicated to Lucy, one that\’s absolutely stunning and truly captures her elegance, and another that locals refer to as the \”Ugly Lucy Statue.\” They are both in the same area, so naturally I took pictures with both. (Here\’s a news article regarding both statues!)

Ecklof Bakery Ecklof Bakery is a well known bakery in Jamestown that is known for their Pink-Stripe Cookies. The cookies themselves are your classic shortbread cookie with a pink stripe down the middle. We also tried their chocolate chip cookies; Anna liked them but I felt that they were a little too crisp for my tastes.

Tim Hortons This is a Canadian chain and the coffee shop that Anna went to a lot during her high school years, so naturally we had to stop by. I got their plain chocolate doughnut and while it was the right texture, their chocolate frosting was a little too dark for me.

Relaxing It was also just so nice to get away from the apartment and relax during the weekend. We watched In the Tall Grass and the Bills game and made quesadillas and drove around looking at all the pretty houses. It was such a nice weekend and I\’m glad I got to go!

Much Love,

Jacquelyn
