Blog #3: A Groovy Fall 2020 Chloé Review
According to the the Vogue review, the invitation for the Chloé show featured one of Rita Ackermann's pieces from the 90s. Guests were also granted access to five other pieces through the artist, and some of the artist's designs were then featured on a couple of pieces in the collection. Though these 90s accents were an incredible collaboration and show case of women supporting women, the rest of the collection screamed 70s through the patterns, silhouettes, and accents (in a good way).
The 70s influences can be found in a leather coat with fur collar, a floral embroidered belt paired with a pattern-mixing maxi dress, and bell-bottom pants. The groovy decade wasn't the only influence for the collection, as so much of the collection embraced femininity through some of the sheerer fabrics used and the flow of the garment as the model moved. This femininity was also present in the few garments that had keyhole cut-outs and shoulder volume. I appreciated the femininity since so many of the styles embraced the more masculine trends of the 70s. As a lover of 70s styles and anything feminine, this collection was a pleasure to view.
Keep living your day dream,
Jacquelyn
