Days in Disney: how we did it and highlights

Hello! I\’m back! I\’m alive! And the next time I decide to spend a month and a half going from place to place with almost a week break in between trips (I really hope that made sense to you guys), remind me not to (or remind to do a little more prep beforehand). For those of you who found that last sentence confusing, let me break it down. I went to Colorado for about a week, came home for about a week, went on a trip to Ohio, Chicago, and Michigan for a little more than a week, was home for less than a week, and then went to Disney and New Orleans for a little more than a week before coming home. All those bloggers and influencers deserve a reward for living this kind of non-stop life. Despite my extreme exhaustion, I will say I enjoyed almost every minute and I don\’t think I would\’ve changed a thing in my planning and I\’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to experience all this in one summer.

Okay so because there are four Disney parks, which means I have four outfits to show you, I\’ve decided I\’m going to do a little four part series on our Disney trip in which each post will have a different Disney trip topic, but I won\’t necessarily be talking about what did in that particular park on that day. I\’m actually going to be telling you about each park today!

Just for clarification, the only people that went on this trip were me and my two friends Maddie and Olivia. It was our senior trip and we kind of took control of it and used this trip to show that we can be responsible adults. With that being said, we didn\’t initially reserve fast passes and we didn\’t decide the order in which we were going to the parks until the night before. We kind of played everything by ear, and downloaded the Disney parks app (I don\’t recall the official name) to see wait times. If there was a shorter wait time for a usually popular ride, we sped across the park to get in line. If we were hungry we would grab a snack or find a place for lunch, but if a ride line was short enough we\’d wait a bit longer and go get in line. By the end of the trip we had ridden almost every ride in all of the parks. There were a few that we chose not to ride by general consensus or that were broken and thus we couldn\’t ride them but otherwise, we were very accomplished.

As for the individual parks are concerned, I would have to say that Hollywood Studios was my favorite. The last time we went to Disney, we only went to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, so Epcot and Hollywood Studios were both so new to me. I feel like Animal Kingdom has some kind of reputation of being boring, which in my younger years I could very easily agree with. In the past ten years they\’ve added more and I\’m now old enough/tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides, and I would rank it as my second favorite park. As much as I hate to say this I would say that my least favorite park of this trip was Magic Kingdom. While I still had fun, there wasn\’t a ride that we were dying to ride again and there wasn\’t anything in particular that I was over the moon about. I feel like I\’m not adequately explaining this… But for comparison, in Animal Kingdom we LOVED Flight of Passage and rode it twice (the second time waiting in line for about 2.5 hours); in Epcot, we really like Test Track and rode it twice; in  Hollywood Studios, we really like Rockin\’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror and rode them 3 and 2 times respectively. There wasn\’t any particular ride in Magic Kingdom that we loved and tried to ride more than once. I feel like my answer may have been different  if Space Mountain had been working properly. Over all it was a largely successful trip, despite being pulled off kind of last minute and planned by some recently graduated teenagers.

So that\’s it for the first Disney-related post! I can\’t wait share more about our trip!

Much Love,

Jac
