Days in Disney: what i ate

I love food. There I said it. I have so many recipes and restaurants saved on Pinterest that some times I worry that I won\’t have enough time in my life to try everything (because let\’s face it, I have no desire to sit around and eat all day either). With that being said, I felt it was necessary that I post something about what I ate while I was away, also, it gives me an excuse to share all my Mickey-shaped foods in one place – sorry (not sorry), for the ulterior motive.

When planning this post I wasn\’t sure whether I should include everything (including the stuff outside of the parks), so I\’m just gonna glaze over that real quick! The night we got in, we just ordered some Chinese food from a local place near the hotel (they delivered!!) and for breakfast every morning I had some protein bars that I brought from home. We also stopped at a Walgreens and stocked up on snacks for our room.

Starting with lunch in Animal Kingdom, we ate in Asia and I had the teriyaki beef. I really liked it and thought it was a nice first meal in the Happiest Place on Earth. Later for a snack we stopped in a little treats cafe where I got this pineapple stick covered in chocolate. Though really messy to eat, I will say it was one of the most amazing things I\’ve ever had. That night we ate in the Restaurantosaurus, and I got the chicken nuggets, which were good, but heavily breaded (and I, personally, am not a fan of heavily breaded nuggets).

Magic Kingdom has so many dining options, so it was almost shocking how easily we decided where to eat. For lunch we at the Columbia Harbor House, where I ordered the New England Clam Chowder, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I love clam chowder and was ecstatic to have it. Later that day, grabbed a snack. I got the Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich. Later for dinner we went Cosmic Ray\’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. After eating mostly junk food, I decided to get the super salad and a frozen lemonade. Honestly, the super salad was less than super, but still edible and something I wouldn\’t mind trying to recreate.

Epcot, a place with many foods, began with food. After our first couple rides, we stopped at the Starbucks where I got my typical Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher, but when in Disney… I also get the Cinderella-inspired/Mickey Rice Krispy Treat; so cute, and so delicious! For lunch, I had this chicken and fried rice meal, which wasn\’t my favorite. I\’m sure if I like the flavoring, it would\’ve been a great dish… That afternoon, I had lemon sherbet in France – gosh, that sounds so nice and fancy! In an effort to save ourselves, we ended up leaving the park early-ish and having a nice meal in Disney Springs. We went to this little Italian restaurant where we all ordered the \”ravioli gigante\” and the rice-cheese sticks. It was soooo delicious and a great way to end the night.

On our last day in Disney at Hollywood Studios, we again started the morning with a snack. I got the Mickey pretzel (sans cheese sauce) and ate it on our way to Toy Story Mania. For lunch we ate at the \’50s Prime Time Cafe, which looks like my dream kitchen! I had the chicken pie and a vanilla milkshake after because I was a new member of the Clean-Plate Club. Later in the day I had a cherry icee to try and beat the heat, which didn\’t help as much as I\’d hoped. For dinner we ate at the Italian restaurant in the Muppets area. I had the four-cheese pasta with the wood-grilled chicken. It was really good, but it\’s not really what I was expecting. This is solely my fault and my own stupidity, but every time without fail, I also think I\’m getting something else when I order a pasta with a four-cheese sauce. I always like it, but I\’m always confused.

So that just about sums up our eating habits for the four days! As for my Magic Kingdom outfit, I will say that wearing that dress was a great decision. I was super chafed from the day before and my spanx prevented any further chafing (though, unfortunately, they are sticking out in some of the pictures…). Wearing my adidas was also a great discussion, and after Magic Kingdom, I wore them everyday because they were so comfortable!

Much Love,

Jacquelyn
