Friendsgiving 2019

Hello everybody, and Happy Thanksgiving! Whether you\’re reading this from the comfort of your home or the lines for Black Friday, I hope you are safe and well and a really good day.

This year I decided to host Friendsgiving, and we had such a good time. I served gumbo, apples and caramel, cheese petit fours (a family recipe), and bread. My friend also made oreo balls for dessert.

As for decorations, in my head I wanted it to be something instagram perfect and I wanted to do some of the decor ideas I had seen on Pinterest but at the end of the day we did something just as good: we used what we had. We used the bowls we always used for gumbo, some glasses that my mom inherited from her mom, and table cloths and napkins that we\’ve had for years. For the center piece I took various pumpkins and the pilgrims that my mom has had for years. I also included a little turkey that I must\’ve made in maybe in Kindergarten. Around the room I just had various fall/Thanksgiving decorations. As a little thank you gift I also made little crocheted pumpkins that I made from yarn I thrifted (the inside was a plastic bag since I didn\’t have any stuffing)!

Anyway, thank you so much for reading this post and being part of my online community (and real life community for some of you!)! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Much Love,

Jacquelyn
