One thing I\’m never good at is keeping up with things… And finding time for things… And task management… And a lot of other things… In other words, I meant to post this Monday, but now it\’s Thursday. I don\’t know about anyone else but this has been a truly crazy week.  Between homework, meetings, auditions, and elections, I have never slept so little in one week. And ironically, none of it is from a lack of sleep after the Homecoming Dance.

Starting with Friday, the day on which I was only a school for a couple hours and did NOTHING educational, I went to an estate sale in town. The lady who had lived in the house, someone I had met a time or two, kept almost everything. I kid you not, EVERYTHING. Because of this there were thousands of clothes, antiques, hats, purses, and so much jewelry. Because I am on limited budget and am really trying to save my money, I tried to limit my spending, purchasing only what I knew what I would use. I bought the white hat, as pictured above, a gold bracelet that is similar to one I own and even closer in resemblance to one that was passed down from my grandmother. I also found a mirrored tray, which is something that I have been looking for for ages! I was honestly so excited! Unfortunately most of the clothing was made for someone much smaller than I, but I managed to find a lovely green dress and an vintage-ish Mickey Mouse vest.

Though the Homecoming Football game was wildly uneventful and boring, I was still glad we won. Our school\’s team won 49 to 6. The theme for the dance was Louisiana Saturday Night and the theme for that night\’s game was country to keep in accordance with the overall Homecoming theme. Nothing to eventful as I said.

As for the most important part: THE DANCE! My original plans including me going by myself but to my luck a friend asked me if we could go together because her plans fell through at the last minute. I was so excited, where as before I wasn\’t looking forward to the dance before this unexpected news. I woke up early that morning and took a nice hot bath with my green tea and Before the dance we went to a fancy Italian restaurant, where I had some wonderful Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. Like any high school dance, the music was terrible. Also the LSU/Bama game was playing in another room, so more than half of the dance attendees were watching the game instead of dancing. But overall, I had fun.

My after-party was the best part! I dropped my friend off at someone else\’s house and then went home. I made some popcorn and watched Nerve. It was a pretty good movie, but nothing I proclaim to be the best. I went to bed and got a good amount asleep and woke up feeling nice and refreshed.

Sunday night, however, is where my life got crazy. I had a project to finish that took me almost two hours to finish and a large grammar assignment that I woke up at 4am to finish. Monday night i had rehearsals for a play I am in, and I fell asleep around 10:30pm only to wake up, once again, at 4am to finish homework from the night before.

Tuesday. *sigh* Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday. AKA Election Day. The first thing you need to know is that the elections have been stressing me out since they began. I had also been counting down from a week prior to election day. With each day bringing it closer, my stomach sunk, my heart dropped, and my fear of the future shot into the sky. On top of this, I had auditions for the school play, a doctors appointment, a meeting for Campus Ministry, and I was supposed to go to rehearsals for the play I am currently in, but was unable to attend those. I also had the rough draft of an essay for my AP English class due. Needless to say it was stressful. I had the updating results pulled up online as I typed my essay. I checked it every few sentences until I fell asleep around 10:30pm. I would wake up every few minutes type a few sentences and check the results before falling asleep again. Just as the other days, I woke up at 4am to finish everything else.

Skipping to today, it was the first morning this week that I did not wake up at 4am and it was my last day of auditions. THANK THE LORD.

With the weather in Louisiana cooling off, I cannot contain the giddy excitement inside of me. I am so excited and happy because it is almost Thanksgiving, which means that Christmas is coming and decorations are starting to be put up. With Christmas comes New Years and January. And at the end of January I will once again be going to Washington D.C. and for the first time, NEW YORK!!!!!! I have so many things to look forward to! It\’s such an incredible feeling. . .

Much Love,
