July 2019 Resolution Update

Y\’all. I can\’t believe it\’s August already. It interesting watching the rest of the internet slowly transition into accepting the summer is almost over and we\’re getting in the back-to-school season. (Only two more weeks until I head back to Kent!) It\’s really wild how fast this summer has gone, but also how much more intentional and focused I felt during it. But let\’s get started:
Goal Meals. From my Pinterest Board, I made two of my \”Goal Meals\” this month and they were both delicious. The first that I made was the Baked Garlic Parmesan Steak Fries. They were good, but they unfortunately weren\’t anything that truly blew me away. We have baked potato bites like this a lot, but I will say adding parsley to the mix is a total game changer. The next thing we made was Orecchiette with Baked Mini Chicken Meatballs in Tomato Cream Sauce. And y\’all. Words cannot describe how much I loved this dish. We\’ve made it a couple of times throughout the month and it\’s so good. We\’ve made extra meatballs both times and I will literally just reheat the meatballs and eat them by themselves. So good. Highly recommend.
Money & Shopping. I\’m still working, so I have been continuing to work towards my goal savings numbers. But I did buy two things from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, a pair of leggings and a pair of underwear, both of which I am considering an investment! None of my leggings truly fit me anymore, so I figured I\’d splurge a little bit. I also got a little skirt and dress from Target the other day that were on major clearance. And lastly, I did buy two pairs of shoes from Poshmark.
Regarding the Earth. I wrote a post the other day kind of discussing everything with that the other day; you can read that here if you haven\’t already read it. To cut down on my emissions even further, I\’ve been trying to find meals that I can cook at school that are meatless. Additionally, there\’s a store that sells bulk food in Kent so I\’m currently looking for bags that I can use for that!
Reading. So I never actually read the Haunting of Hill House because I had to return it to the library, but I will make it happen before the end of the year! Right not I\’m currently reading The Art of French Kissing. It\’s super cheesy and kind of dumb but I\’ve had the book for a while so I feel like I should read it before I pass it on to someone else.
The Blog. As per last month, consistency in posting has been the worst for me. But I was recently accepted in Her Campus\’s Campus Trendsetters program which I\’m so excited about!
Things I Want to Focus on the Rest of the Year. So, I can\’t find where I actually said this, or if I actually said this, but for the second part of the year there are some more goals and resolutions I would like to add. First, I would like to be more intentional in what I eat. Particularly, where the food comes from and what it\’s made with. I\’ve been working on this for a while by trying to cut out meat for some meals and eating organic if that\’s an option. I would also like to be more intentional in the time I spend online, particularly on social media. I feel like I\’ve been wasting too much time.
Much Love,
Jacquelyn
