October 2019 Resolution Update

Two. Months. Left. Wow. This year has really flown by and tbh I\’m a little shocked, but also not because this literally happens every year. October was so good this year, and honestly, I can\’t wait for its return next year.
Goal Meals This month I made two things from my Goal Meals board this month – *pats self on the back.* I made the Easy Chicken Alfredo Pasta Bake and the Baked Parmesan Tomatoes. The Alfredo bake was very similar to the garlic mac and cheese in a lot of ways that I don\’t feel like I can accurately describe. It made for good leftovers, but I just felt like it was kind of bland. The bake Parmesan tomatoes were to die for however. I love them so much and they were such a small simple dinner. The only thing I would really say (and this more a note to self) but the bigger tomatoes would work a lot better than I smaller ones that I used.
Money & Shopping October is my birthday month so I always feel less inclined to buy things in October. Is that weird? Most of what I bought was second-hand from Poshmark and Thredup. And I probably went to the thrift store at some point, too. The things I bought new were for my Halloween costume (the gloves), another Stasher bag (to bring some compost home in), and a shirt. But overall, I feel pretty confident in my purchases.
Regarding the Earth Kind of like last month, I feel like I\’ve been lacking a little bit in my efforts. I\’ve used plastic straws and single use products, and I\’m not proud. But I did get a large reusable ziploc of sorts to bring some of my compost home. And I made my trash pumpkins, which were full of receipts and plastic bags, which can be recycled (but reuse is better). With the exception of the gloves, my Halloween costume was made up entirely of things I had before. #usewhatyouhave
Reading And in the month of October I finally finished The Art of French Kissing. Additionally, I read and finished P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han (the second book in the To All the Boy\’s I\’ve Loved Before series). I also, at the end of the month, finished The Hiding Place by C.J. Tudor, which was such a good book – I would highly recommend.
The Blog – I don\’t really have much to say, except I feel really content with where everything is at right now 🙂
Much Love,
Jac
