Out of the Dorm for Christmas – An Update from the SLC Airport

Good morning from the Salt Lake City Airport! After a few short days in Butte for my uncle\’s wedding, I\’m on my way back to Lafayette for a week. I loved being with my family and the wedding was gorgeous, but I\’m gonna be selfish and keep my family stuff to my self… Instead, I\’m going to share my outfit for the wedding today and give a little bit of a layout for the next few days.
Lately I\’ve been so inspired, and I have so many things that I want to post on the blog; however, I don\’t want to be posting everyday and bombarding y\’all. Also, I feel like it would be annoying to post so much. Also, I\’m trying to savor this creativity and space it out for the times I\’m not feeling so creative. With that note, I will say that I\’m probably going to post a very late Makeup the Week maybe Wednesday, and I\’ll have a Poshmark Round-Up up tomorrow. This completely strays from the schedule I originally had for these, but life happens and people get tired and unorganized.
Before I go into the details of my outfit, I want to move Salt Lake City up on my bucketlist. It\’s been a long time since I\’ve been in the SLC airport and the views from the plane and the airport are gorgeous. The only thing I worry about is that it looks a little smoggy (is that a word?), but so do most cities. I\’ve flown over the city a couple times and I\’d just really like to see it up close and personal. Excuse me while I go make a Pinterest board!
I\’m all about getting dressed up, especially for weddings. I\’ve been slowly transitioning to a less wasteful life (as mentioned in this post), and so initially my plan was to wear a dress I already own. I made a list of all the fancier dresses I own, and then went through crossing off the dresses that were not wedding appropriate (too short, white), weren\’t a color that was appropriate for the winter season, or that I had worn to a previous wedding that had been for my dad\’s side of the family. I loved the choices I had left, but I just wasn\’t really feeling them I guess. On Black Friday I found this Gal Meets Glam Collection dress, a brand that I am obsessed with. It was on major clearance and there was the Black Friday sale on clearance. When I saw that it fit, I snatched it up, knowing it would be perfect for the wedding, and it was. I immediately decided that I would pair it with my chrome shoes from prom a couple years ago. I had intended to paint my nails navy, but I never got around to that.
But that\’s life!
Much love,
Jacquelyn
