The Independence Tractors

My cousin got married at the end of the week following the 4th of July, so my family and I made a trip out of it and spent the whole week in Eastern Montana. The second day was, in fact, the Fourth of July, so we drove about 30 minutes away from my Aunt and Uncle\’s farm to Lambert, Montana.
I had never been to Lambert before and was expecting a little bit more. It wasn\’t an over-the-top parade like what you might see in the movies (Safe Haven comes to mind for me!), but it was still fun and entertaining to see the children run to get the candy that was thrown. It was a nice community gathering, which I needed. Having grown up in a nice connected community, I always find it refreshing to be included in other small events. After the parade, the fire department (I\’m assuming?) hosted a barbecue for the parade watchers. I had their pulled pork, and it was so good! It was the perfect 4th of July lunch. We ate in the park and drank fresh lemonade… It was perfect.
Back to the parade, I\’ve never seen so many tractors at once. The majority of the parade was tractors because it is a primarily farming community. I will say though it was interesting seeing all the different and vintage tractors. Also, there were some of the cutest dogs there!
That night we watched fireworks from my aunt\’s porch. I still haven\’t entirely figured out my camera, so I didn\’t get any good pictures. Whoops! But it was really cool seeing the fireworks from such a far distance while they mingled with the city lights. Even in the one decent photo I captured, it wasn\’t nearly as amazing as what i saw through my eyes.
As for my outfit, I am planning a separate follow-up post on it, and some of my other looks from the trip.
Have a Beautiful Day!
