Travel Style for Christmas

Hello from the Baton Rouge Airport! We\’re going away for Christmas, which is so stressful for me. My aunt has a rule that they\’d never travel for Christmas, of course that\’s changed now that they have grandkids. For a while I didn\’t understand why. Part of it could be that I grew up traveling for Christmas. Some years we were in Littleton, others we were in Lafayette, and a couple years we were somewhere in Montana. I suppose I should give my parents a lot of credit: especially if you\’re flying, it\’s a lot to get all the gifts somewhere else. Packing last night, I was so worried that I wouldn\’t be able to fit everything in my suitcase, and today we all stressed about whether or not our suitcases would be overweight. (Irrelevant side note: we were all underweight!)
My worries last night lead to additional thoughts about future travels. For example, I like my parents don\’t really intend to live near my family. For example, I\’d love to live on the East Coast, where as most of my family lives in the south or Montana. So, will I also decide not to travel during Christmas. Will I be traveling every year for Christmas? How will I find that balance? Of course I\’m thinking a long time ahead especially since I\’m still in my first year of college.
Aside from all my future stresses, I thought I\’d share today my thoughts on airpot travel style. I generally like to put a bit of effort into how I look in the airport. Some of my favorite photographs are of the stars deboarding the plane looking absolutely glamorous. I don\’t necessarily have the means to look as stunning as the have, but it\’s still fun. Particularly in the winter, I opt for short-sleeved shirts or lightweight shirts just because I can get warm so easily. In the summer, I tend to go for casual dresses for the same reason.
Today, I\’m wearing a pair of Old Navy skinny jeans (tbh, their jeans are some of my favorites!) with a short-sleeved black button down that I thrifted about two years ago. Then in true Jacquelyn fashion, I cropped it because I needed a black neck scarf for a costume and had no black fabric. I regret nothing, and LOVE this shirt cropped. I left the bottom hem frayed for a little added something. I have minimal accessories: a small choker from Urban Outfitters (not pictures) and the black and white scrunchie I made a few weeks ago. To finish it off, I\’m wearing these white boots that have become my favorite for flying! I got them from Nordstrom Rack (they\’re by the brand Abound).
Happy Holidays and Safe Travels!
Much Love, Jac
