Worry-Free Wednesday: the first worry-free idea

When I was in middle school, I had this incredible English teacher who hosted \”Worry-Free Wednesday\’s.\” It was during our recess time, and she had board games and cards and we were just allowed to play while music played in the background. It was a time for the 8th graders to just relax and not worry about school or anything for a moment. Of course this idea of a worry-free moment kind of got lost in high school, but I\’ve made it my goal in college to reclaim it. Now I am by no means and expert on anything, but I know what works best for me and I thought I\’d share. \”Why is Jacquelyn starting this?\” you might wonder. Well this past weekend and Monday (and part of Tuesday) I have been so anxious. Luckily, I haven\’t had a lot of work so I was allowed to rest through most of my anxious times, but some times that isn\’t always an option, we can\’t always spend the whole weekend in bed watching movies; I think I ended up watching 5 or 6 movies. This isn\’t always the case though; some nights I can only take 30-60 minutes before I need to rush on to the next thing. (Tbh, I could probably have more if I didn\’t procrastinate or check my phone so frequently.) But let\’s continue, I want to start this mini series as a means to help you reclaim your free-time or the part of yourself you feel you\’ve lost.
1. Read a Book I know I\’ve mentioned my love for reading previously (and I\’ve honestly been so bad about it as of recent), but time away from screens can really help. As a college student and teenager, I spend SO much time on the computer. It\’s where I do my homework, research, projects, papers, and of course watch Netflix. So frequently my eyes are dying, wishing I would look away from the screen.
I\’m currently reading The Night Circus and while it\’s taken me a while to get into it, I\’m actually really enjoying it! I also recently read Thirteen Reasons Why.
If you would ever like for me to share some book recommendations, I\’d be down! Until then I highly recommend using Goodreads (no sponsored); I love using it to track my pages read/percentage. I also love being to document everything I\’ve read… yea, I\’m a little nerdy like that.
As for this look, this is how I look a lot of days, when I\’m feeling just a little lazy… No accessories, no makeup; just me. I had to go to the 8th floor of the library to find a book and that inspired this impromtu photo shoot 🙂
Until then, just remember that there\’s only two days left in the week! Happy Wednesday!
Much Love,
Jacquelyn
